Part 2 Application Instructions
Thank you for your interest in Hk Maker Lab! Hk Maker Lab collaborates closely with Columbia Engineering, so you will be submitting Part 2 of the application through their portal. It is important that you follow all of the Part 2 directions below as incomplete or incorrect applications will not be accepted!

This video will guide you through the Columbia University's Gradutae Engineering Portal.

Start Application
Click on the link to access Part 2 of the Hk Maker Lab Application: Graduate Engineering Application Portal.
Click on "Create An Account" to start a new application.
If you are returning, click on "Log in" to continue your application.

Session Selection &
SHAPE Course Selection
Please follow these directions on the Shape Session & Course Selection page.
Under Session selection, make sure to select the first option "Session 1: 7/08/24 - 7/26/24". Hk Maker Lab only runs during this session.
Under SHAPE Course Selection, please only select from the following three options:
1) Biomedical Engineering: Where Biology, Medicine & Design Meet
2) Product Studio: From Idea to Prototype
3)Robotics and Autonomous Driving

*We will do our best to assign you to your first choice; however, it's not guaranteed as we have limited spots in each class. Students who apply earlier are more likely to get their first choice.

SHAPE Course Selection & Need Based Scholarship
Under SHAPE Course Selection, please complete the following steps:

1. Only current sophomores and juniors are eligible for Hk Maker Lab.
2. Make sure to select HYPOTHEKids.
* THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT AS THIS IS HOW WE WILL BE RECEIVING PART 2 OF YOUR APPLICATION.
3. Need Based Scholarship
Please select "Yes" to this question.
* Hk Maker lab is completely free of charge for all selected participants!
