About HYPOTHEkids

HYPOTHEkids is an education and youth-development nonprofit based in West Harlem that provides K–12 students from low-resource backgrounds with hands-on education and training opportunities in STEAM—science, technology, engineering, art and design, and mathematics—setting them on a path toward academic success and well-paying careers.

About STEAM EDU

HYPOTHEkids’ “STEAM EDU” STEAM educator training program prepares high school students to become confident, hands-on elementary STEAM educators. Through interactive training and a paid summer teaching internship, participants learn the fundamentals of education, gain classroom teaching experience, build leadership skills, and learn how to engage younger students in STEAM.

The program is designed for juniors on the school’s Education Career Pathway who are interested in teaching, youth development, and STEAM careers. After completing the academic-year training, eligible students will be placed in paid summer internships teaching HYPOTHEkids lessons to K–5 students.
