Training & Internship Program for
High School Students

HYPOTHEkids’ STEAM EDU program equips high school students to become confident, hands-on STEAM educators. Through engaging training and a paid summer teaching internship, participants gain real classroom experience, build leadership skills, and learn how to inspire younger students through STEAM.

Who Is STEAM EDU For?

High school students interested in:

  • Learning how to teach engaging, hands-on STEAM lessons

  • Building leadership, communication, and teamwork skills

  • Gaining real classroom experience

  • Exploring careers in education, science, and youth development
     

Participants complete comprehensive training and are then placed in paid summer internships, where they teach HYPOTHEkids STEAM lessons to K–5 students.

Learn how to teach a variety of fun hands-on science lessons to K-5 students

What Will Students Learn?

Our training is hands-on, interactive, and focused on real-world applications. Students learn:

  • Foundations of teaching and learning

  • Classroom management strategies

  • Cognitive and social-emotional (SEL) development

  • How to structure an effective STEAM lesson plan, using HYPOTHEkids’ lessons as examples

  • How to implement those lessons in the classroom


Participants build real teaching skills through:

  • Role-play

  • Hands-on activities

  • Teaching simulations

  • Peer feedback

  • Practice with actual HYPOTHEkits (which include all guidance and materials)

When and Where Does the Training Take Place?

We customize the program to fit the needs of your school or organization. All training takes place on-site at your school or organization, with flexible scheduling options:

  • Condensed summer training

  • After-school sessions

  • In-school program integration

Cost

We collaborate with schools and organizations to match program pricing to your budget. Our mission is to expand access to high-quality STEAM education and paid work opportunities for youth from low-resource backgrounds.
